The Singing Scoutmaster: Smokey Bear's Origin

One sunny spring day in the mountains of New Mexico, a group of campers made a careless mistake—leaving their campfire unattended. Smokey went on to live at the National Zoo in Washington, D.C., where visitors from across the country came to see him and learn about the importance of fire safety.

Though Smokey Bear has passed on, his message lives on. Forest rangers, campers, and hikers still remember his story whenever they see a campfire. Smokey's legacy teaches us to care for the forest, respect nature, and always extinguish fires completely.
