Five Little Pumpkins
| Tune: | Traditional fingerplay rhyme, chanted |
|---|---|
| Category: | Holiday |
| Notes: | A traditional fingerplay. Hold up five fingers as the pumpkins and wiggle one finger for each pumpkin as it speaks. Everyone makes the wind sound together and claps on "out went the lights," then roll your hands behind your back as the pumpkins roll out of sight. Say it once normally, then in a spooky whisper. |
Five little pumpkins sitting on a gate (hold up five fingers)
The first one said, "Oh my, it's getting late!"
The second one said, "There are witches in the air!"
The third one said, "But we don't care!"
The fourth one said, "Let's run and run and run!"
The fifth one said, "I'm ready for some fun!"
"Ooooooo," went the wind (everyone blows like the wind)
And OUT went the lights! (clap!)
And the five little pumpkins rolled out of sight (roll your hands behind your back)
Again, in a spooky whisper
