The Roller Coaster

| Notes: | This skit is all about exaggerated reactions to riding a roller coaster. The riders should lean together during turns, raise hands on drops, and react as a group. The more dramatic and synchronized, the better! |
([Riders] sit in rows as if in a roller coaster car. [Operator] stands to the side.)
[Operator:] Welcome to the EXTREME SCREAM roller coaster! Please keep your hands and arms inside the car at all times!
([All Riders] pull down imaginary safety bars and secure themselves.)
[Operator:] And... here we go!
(The ride begins. [Riders] start moving slowly forward, rocking gently.)
[Rider 1:] This isn't so bad!
(Suddenly, they start going up a steep hill. All [Riders] lean back, gripping safety bars.)
[Rider 2:] We're going up... and up... and UP!
(They reach the top. Everyone peers over anxiously.)
[Rider 3:] I can see the whole park from up here!
[Rider 4:] Wait... what's that drop ahead?!
(Suddenly, they plunge down. Everyone screams and throws hands up in the air.)
[All Riders:] AHHHHHHHHH!
(They lean left together as the coaster turns.)
[Rider 1:] Sharp turn!
(Then lean right together.)
[Rider 2:] Another turn!
(They all get pulled back as if accelerating fast.)
[Rider 3:] We're going SO FAST!
(They go through a loop. All lean back, then forward, hands in the air, screaming.)
[All Riders:] WHOOOOAAAA!
(They hit a bump. Everyone bounces up from their seats.)
[Rider 4:] That was a big bump!
(More twists and turns - [Riders] lean together left, right, back, forward in exaggerated movements.)
(Suddenly, they slow down dramatically.)
[Rider 1:] (relieved) Oh, thank goodness! It's slowing down!
[Rider 2:] Is it over?
(They come to a complete stop. All [Riders] are disheveled, breathing hard, but smiling.)
[Operator:] How was your ride?
[All Riders:] (exhausted) THAT WAS AWESOME!
[Operator:] Great! Now... who wants to go again?
([All Riders] immediately panic and start trying to climb out of the car frantically.)
[All Riders:] NO! NO! LET US OUT!
(Freeze. Blackout.)
