| Notes: | The Mosquito should make buzzing sounds and move around the Camper annoyingly. The slapping and swatting should get more frantic. This is a great skit for outdoor/camping themes. |
([Camper] lies down center stage, pretending to sleep peacefully.)
([Mosquito] enters, making quiet buzzing sounds and "flying" around the stage.)
([Mosquito] flies near [Camper]'s head. The buzzing gets louder.)
([Camper] stirs slightly, waves hand near ear.)
([Mosquito] flies away, buzzing quiets. [Camper] settles back to sleep.)
([Mosquito] returns, buzzing louder, flying right near [Camper]'s face.)
([Camper] wakes up annoyed, sits up, swats at [Mosquito].)
[Camper:] Go away!
([Mosquito] flies away. [Camper] lies back down, pulls blanket over head.)
([Mosquito] returns, lands on [Camper]'s arm. Makes buzzing sound, then mimes biting.)
([Camper] sits up quickly, slaps at arm.)
[Camper:] Ow! That's it!
([Camper] stands up, stalking [Mosquito] around the stage. [Mosquito] buzzes and dodges.)
([Camper] swats. [Mosquito] dodges. They chase around in circles.)
([Camper] tries to clap hands together on [Mosquito]. [Mosquito] escapes just in time.)
[Camper:] Hold still, you little pest!
([Mosquito] flies high, then dive-bombs [Camper]'s head. [Camper] ducks and swats wildly.)
([Mosquito] lands on [Camper]'s back. [Camper] spins around trying to reach it, can't.)
[Camper:] (desperate) Where are you?!
([Mosquito] flies right in front of [Camper]'s face, buzzing loudly and annoyingly.)
([Camper] slowly, carefully raises both hands, preparing for the perfect clap to catch [Mosquito].)
[Camper:] (whispering) Got you now...
([Camper] claps hands together hard right where [Mosquito] is.)
([Mosquito] stops buzzing. Falls to ground.)
[Camper:] (triumphantly) Yes! Finally!
([Camper] lies back down, satisfied. Starts to drift off to sleep.)
(Suddenly, ten more [Mosquitoes] (played by other Scouts) enter from all sides, all making loud buzzing sounds and swarming [Camper].)
[Camper:] (sitting up in horror) NOOOOO!
(All the [Mosquitoes] swarm around as [Camper] frantically swats at them.)
(Freeze in chaos. Blackout.)
