| Notes: | This is a classic absurdist skit. The Scout sits at the campfire with fishing line in a bucket. The Passerby should do a double-take and be genuinely confused. The punchline about being the third sucker is perfect! |
(A Scout sits at the front of the campfire holding a fishing pole. The end of the fishing line is sitting in a bucket as if the Scout is fishing in the bucket.)
(The Scout begins to pull on the line as if he has just hooked a large fish. At this moment a second Scout walks past the fisherman, does a double-take and walks over to talk to the fisherman. They begin a dialogue that can go something like this:)
[Passerby:] Hey, Joe what are you doing?
[Fisherman:] I'm fishing, silly, what does it look like I'm doing?
[Passerby:] Fishing? What are you fishing for?
[Fisherman:] I'm fishing for suckers.
[Passerby:] Have you caught any?
[Fisherman:] Yes, as a matter of fact, you're the third today.
