Props: | 'Telephone' made from 2 Red Solo Cups, connected by ~8 pencil balloons tied in a chain |
Notes: | The balloon chain should have enough tension to snap back at Radio without being too tight. Look up 'raspberry' or 'Bronx cheer' for background on the pun. |
[Radio:] (coming back up onto the stage) Ashes! Ashes! You may have an iPad, but I got a new phone!
[Ashes:] Really? Is it the new iPhone?
[Radio:] No.
[Ashes:] Oh, then it's an Android phone. You know, 'Droid!'
[Radio:] (Mimicing Obi Wan Kenobi) These are not the droids your are looking for. No, it's even better than a Droid!
[Ashes:] Better than a droid? Well then, what kind of phone is it?
[Radio:] It's my Pffffft phone.
[Ashes:] A Pffffft phone?
[Radio:] A Pffffft phone.
[Ashes:] A Pffffft phone?
[Radio:] You know, a Pffffft phone - A Raspberry! It's one level better than a Blackberry.
Radio hands Ashes one end of the 'telephone.
[Radio:] Want to see how it works?
[Ashes:] (looks the phone over closely) I want to see IF it works.
[Radio:] Here, you take this end and stand over there. I'll go over there and say 'Ring, Ring, It's for you' and you say 'Let me have it.'
[Ashes:] OK.
Radio walks across the stage and stretches the ballons between the cups
[Radio:] Ring, Ring. It's for you.
[Ashes:] (walks back towards Radio) Hey, Radio, your phone is ringing!
[Radio:] No, no, no. You stay over there, I stay over here. I say 'Ring, Ring. It's for you.' And you say 'Let me have it.'
[Ashes:] Oh, OK. Gotcha.
Radio stretches the balloons again
[Radio:] Ring, Ring. It's for you.
[Ashes:] Hey Radio, we need to get you a better ring tone.
[Radio:] (getting madder) No, no, no! I say 'Ring, Ring. It's for you.' You say 'Let Me Have It.'
[Ashes:] OK, gotcha.
Radio stretches the balloons again
[Radio:] Ring, Ring. It's for you.
[Ashes:] (hesitates a moment like he's trying to remember) What was I supposed to say?
[Radio:] (exasperated) Let Me Have It!
[Ashes:] OK...
Ashes lets go of his end of the 'telephone' and it snaps back and hits Radio. Radio starts to chase Ashes.
[Ashes:] (points behind Radio) Squirrel!
Radio is distracted and looks back. as both exit the stage
