Category: | Chain Reaction Skits |

Props: | Optional step stool or crate to mime climbing |
Notes: | Storekeeper should get more dramatic and exhausted with each repeat. The kid should be sweet and cheerful the whole time. |
([Kid] enters, bright and cheerful. [Storekeeper] is behind the counter.)
[Kid:] I want five of those penny candies way up at the top!
[Storekeeper:] You mean those penny candies, way, way, waaaaaayy up top?
[Kid:] Yes, please!
([Storekeeper] groans, climbs with effort, gets five candies. [Kid] pays one cent per candy and exits happily.)
(Repeat the above for two or three more 'days'-each time the [Storekeeper] gets more tired, climbs slower, groans louder, etc.)
(On the final day...)
[Storekeeper:] (Sees [Kid] coming through the door.) Oh no-not again! I know what he wants. I'll just get them before he asks.
([Storekeeper] climbs up and retrieves five candies, waits proudly.)
[Kid:] (Walks in.) I bet you think I want five of those penny candies from way up top, right?
[Storekeeper:] Yep! Got 'em ready for ya!
[Kid:] Nope! Not today!
([Storekeeper:] Sighs heavily, climbs back up to put the candies away, climbs down again.)
[Storekeeper:] All right, sonny-what do you want today?
[Kid:] I'd like three of those penny candies way up at the top!
