| Notes: | Divide the audience into two sections before starting-one is the home team fans, one is the visiting team fans. Teach each section their cheer. The announcer should be very animated and get the crowd participating! |
(Before starting, divide audience in half. Teach one side to cheer "GO BEARS!" and the other side "GO TIGERS!" Practice a few times.)
([Announcer] stands at center stage with great enthusiasm.)
[Announcer:] Welcome, sports fans, to the championship game between the BEARS and the TIGERS!
(Point to each section to get them cheering their team name.)
[Announcer:] It's the bottom of the ninth inning! The score is tied 3 to 3! The Tigers are up to bat with bases loaded!
(Motion for Tigers fans to cheer.)
[Announcer:] The pitcher winds up...
(Make exaggerated winding motion.)
[Announcer:] He throws!
(Make throwing motion.)
[Announcer:] Strike ONE!
(Motion for Bears fans to cheer.)
[Announcer:] The pitcher winds up again... and throws!
[Announcer:] Strike TWO!
(Motion for Bears fans to cheer louder.)
[Announcer:] This is it, folks! Two outs, bases loaded, two strikes! Everything comes down to THIS pitch!
(Build tension with gestures.)
[Announcer:] The pitcher winds up... he throws!
[Announcer:] The batter SWINGS!
(Make big swinging motion.)
[Announcer:] It's a HIT! A long fly ball to deep center field!
(Motion for Tigers fans to cheer.)
[Announcer:] The center fielder is running back... back... BACK!
(Run in place, looking up.)
[Announcer:] He's at the warning track! He's at the wall! He LEAPS!
(Jump dramatically.)
[Announcer:] He's got it! HE'S GOT IT! NO WAIT!
(Motion for Bears fans to cheer, then stop them.)
[Announcer:] The ball hits off his glove! It's going... going... GOING!
(Motion for Tigers fans to cheer.)
[Announcer:] IT'S OUTTA HERE! A GRAND SLAM HOME RUN!
(Get Tigers fans cheering wildly.)
[Announcer:] The runners are rounding the bases! Here comes the winning run!
(Run in place, pointing at imaginary runners.)
[Announcer:] He rounds third! He's heading home!
[Announcer:] The catcher is blocking the plate! Here comes the throw from the outfield!
(Build suspense.)
[Announcer:] The runner slides!
(Make sliding motion.)
[Announcer:] The catcher has the ball! He's going for the tag!
[Announcer:] The umpire leans in to make the call!
(Pause dramatically, look back and forth.)
[Announcer:] He's... SAFE!
(Get everyone cheering.)
[Announcer:] The Tigers win! The Tigers win the championship!
(Motion for huge cheer from everyone.)
[Announcer:] What a game, folks! What a game!
(Take a bow. Blackout.)
