Look around you. Every Scout in this troop was standing exactly where you are right now - nervous, probably, wondering what comes next, maybe wondering if they were ready.
They were. And you are.
Here's what I'll tell you about this troop: we don't do things for you. We teach you how to do them, and then we get out of the way. You'll plan campouts. You'll lead patrols. You'll make decisions - and sometimes those decisions won't be the right ones, and that's okay, because that's how this works.
What you bring with you from Cub Scouts matters. The values, the habits, the friendships. Don't leave those at the bridge.
But you're not Cubs anymore. You're Scouts. And in this troop, that means something. We're glad you're here. Now let's get to work.
