This is our last meeting before the summer break. So before we scatter for a few months, let's take a minute and look back.
Think about where you were when this year started. Some of you were brand new and didn't know anybody. Some of you hadn't been on a campout yet. Some of you were a rank or two behind where you are now.
Look at you now.
Think about what we did together. (Name a few highlights: the campouts, the service projects, the rainy night, the big trip, the ranks earned.) Every one of those happened because Scouts showed up and made them happen.
(If you used goal cards at the start of the year, hand them back now.) Back at the first meeting, you wrote down one thing you wanted to do this year. Take a look at your card. Some of you did it. Congratulations. Some of you didn't, and that's okay. Maybe it's still worth doing. Maybe you found something better along the way. Either way, you've got all summer to think about next year's card.
Have a great summer. Get outside. Go swimming, go hiking, help out at home. And for those of you going to summer camp, I'll see you there.
Thank you for a great year.
