Time is Thrifty Too

Notes:Being thrifty applies to time and effort, not just money.

When we talk about being thrifty, we usually think about money. But time is a resource too, and maybe the most valuable one because you can never get it back.

Wasting an hour on something pointless is like throwing money away. Putting off a task until it becomes an emergency wastes time you could have used more efficiently. Starting a campfire properly the first time is more thrifty than spending an hour trying to light wet wood.

A Scout is thrifty with time and effort. That means doing tasks right the first time instead of having to redo them. It means planning ahead instead of scrambling at the last minute. It means focusing on what matters instead of being distracted by what doesn't. Because at the end of your life, you won't wish you'd wasted more time - you'll be grateful for every moment you used wisely.
