Notes:Passing skills along to younger Scouts is one of the most helpful services we can provide.

You've mastered a knot, learned to build a proper fire, or can read a compass confidently. Now you see a younger Scout struggling with that same skill. You have two choices: feel superior about knowing more, or help them learn what you know.

When you teach someone else a skill, something interesting happens. They benefit from learning, obviously. But you benefit too - teaching deepens your own understanding and builds your leadership abilities. And the skill you share gets passed on, potentially to dozens more scouts over time.

A Scout is helpful by teaching others what we know. We don't hoard knowledge or skills - we share them generously. Because the ultimate measure of your scouting success isn't just what you learned, but how many others you helped learn. That's how Scout skills and values get passed from generation to generation.
