Summer Camp - The Last Campfire
| Category: | Summer Camp |

| Props: | A short stick or ember-safe "talking stick" to pass around the fire (optional) |
| Notes: | For the troop's own campfire on the last night of summer camp, after the camp-wide closing campfire or in place of it. Includes an optional pass-the-stick moment, so allow extra time for a large troop. Look around this fire for a second.
A week ago, some of you didn't know half the Scouts sitting here. Some of you had never slept away from home this long. A few of you were sure you'd never pass the swim test. Look at you now.
Think about everything that fit into one week. The merit badge you finished. The hike that was longer than anybody promised. The storm that came through on (night of the week). The meal that went wrong, and the one that went surprisingly right. The joke that's going to be funny for the rest of the year, even though nobody outside this troop will understand it.
Tonight, I want every one of us to say just one thing. Not a speech. One moment from this week you want to remember. When the stick comes to you, say it, and pass it on.
(Optional: pass a stick around the circle. Each Scout names one moment. Leaders go last.)
In a little while we'll let this fire burn down and make sure it's cold, the same way we've done every night this week. Tomorrow we pack up, and somebody else will sit in this campsite next week and think it's theirs.
But it was ours this week. Every one of those moments happened right here, with these people. Hold onto them.
