Steven Spielberg is one of the most celebrated filmmakers in history-behind movies like E.T., Indiana Jones, and Saving Private Ryan. But before all of that, he was a Scout. An Eagle Scout.
As a boy, he used an 8mm camera to complete his Photography merit badge by filming a Scout adventure. It sparked something-and that spark became a calling.
He once said, "Scouting was the first time I got validation that being a storyteller was a real thing."
Scouts are taught to use our heads, hands, and hearts-and Spielberg shows us that creativity is a powerful tool when matched with discipline and purpose.
