Cub Scouts, this weekend is Memorial Day. That's a time when we pause, even during all the picnics and camping and fun, to remember some very special heroes - the men and women who gave their lives while serving in the military to protect our country.
You know, every time you see the American flag waving, you're seeing something they believed in. They wanted us to grow up free, safe, and proud - and they made the ultimate sacrifice to make sure we could.
So this weekend, I want you to do something. When you see a flag flying, or maybe you go to a parade, stop for just a moment. Put your hand over your heart. Be quiet. And say, even if it's just in your head: Thank you.
That little moment of silence? That's your way of honoring a hero.
