The Scout rank is the first one you earn, and honestly, it's the easiest. You learn the Oath and the Law. You tie a square knot. You find out what a patrol is. Some Scouts barely notice they've earned it.
But I want you to notice.
Earning the Scout rank means you've made a decision. You looked at the Scout Oath and the Scout Law, said them out loud, and decided they were worth trying to live by. Nobody can do that for you. It's the first step on a trail that some Scouts follow all the way to Eagle.
Every Eagle Scout in the world started exactly where you're standing. Every one of them had a first rank, a first patch, and a first meeting where they weren't sure what they were doing.
So wear this patch proudly. It's small. But it means you're on the trail now.
Let's see where it takes you.
