Category:For Adults
Notes:For a volunteer recognition night, an end-of-year banquet, a committee meeting, or a court of honor where adult volunteers are being thanked. Can be delivered by the Committee Chair, the unit leader, or a senior Scout. Part of a series for adult audiences - see the other minutes in this category.

Tonight I want to thank some people whose work most of our Scouts will never see.

When a Scout shows up to a campout, there's a campsite reserved, food bought, gear checked, and a trailer hitched to someone's truck. When a Scout earns a rank, there are adults who gave up an evening to sit on a board of review. When a Scout walks across a stage at a court of honor, someone ordered the patches, printed the program, and set up the chairs. When there's money in the bank for summer camp, someone counted it, kept the books, and filed the reports.

None of that happens by itself. It happens because of the people in this room.

The treasurer. The advancement chair. The equipment coordinator. The parent who always says yes to driving. The merit badge counselor who stays late. The committee member who answers the emails nobody else wants to answer. (If you can, name a few of them here.)

Nobody pays you. Most of the time, nobody even notices. But the young people in this program are growing into confident, capable, kind adults, and every one of you is part of the reason why.

So on behalf of every Scout in this unit, the ones here tonight and the ones who will come long after them: thank you.
