Neil Armstrong: From Scout to Moonwalker
On July 20, 1969, Neil Armstrong stepped off the lunar lander and made history. His words-"That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind"-echoed across the globe.
But long before he was an astronaut, Armstrong was a Scout. An Eagle Scout. He learned how to prepare, how to lead, and how to think clearly under pressure-skills that would one day carry him to the surface of the moon.
Armstrong once said, "I always considered myself a Scout first."
Scouting doesn't just prepare you for the next hike or campout. It prepares you for life-for challenges big and small, on Earth and beyond. And who knows? Maybe the next Scout to take a giant leap is sitting right here.
