The Singing Scoutmaster: The Crayon That Wouldn't Color

The Crayon That Wouldn't Color

Category: Cub Scout
Notes: An imaginative tale that teaches self-confidence and the importance of trying.

There once was a crayon who didn't think it was good enough. "I'm not bright like yellow," it said. "I'm not strong like red. I'm not cool like blue." So it stayed in the box and never even tried.

One day, a Cub Scout picked that crayon—brown—and used it to draw the best tree anyone had ever seen. The crayon finally realized it didn't have to be anything else. It was enough, just as it was.

You are, too. Don't stay in the box. Try. Shine. Be the best YOU, because that's what the world needs most.
