Bridge, The

| Notes: | Works well at crossover ceremonies but also at any transitional moment - bridging to Eagle, aging out, end of summer camp. |
A bridge is a remarkable thing. It connects two places that couldn't otherwise reach each other. You can stand in the middle of a bridge and see both shores at once - where you came from and where you're going.
But a bridge only has one job: to get you across.
Tonight, these Scouts crossed a bridge. They could see behind them - the den meetings, the blue and gold banquets, the pinewood derbies, the leaders who taught them their first lessons in what it means to do your best. That shore is real, and it matters, and they carry it with them.
But they walked forward. That's the whole point of a bridge. You don't camp on it.
Growth works the same way. There are moments in life when something ends and something begins - and the only way to honor both is to keep moving. You can be grateful for where you've been and still be excited about where you're going.
These Scouts are moving. Let's make sure this side of the bridge is worth the crossing.
