Bad Day, Good Attitude

You didn't make the competitive team. You failed a rank requirement. Your patrol lost the competition. The campout got cancelled. Bad things happen to everyone, and it's okay to feel disappointed.
But there's a difference between acknowledging disappointment and wallowing in it. You can be sad for a moment, then choose to refocus on what's next. Or you can let that one bad moment ruin your whole day, your whole week, or even your whole scouting experience.
A Scout is cheerful, and that means we bounce back from disappointment. We feel the emotion, we learn from the experience, and then we move forward with a good attitude. Because life will hand you setbacks - that's guaranteed. But whether those setbacks define you or just delay you slightly is entirely up to your attitude.
