Category:Meeting Openings
Notes:A calm opening for a loud room. The Senior Patrol Leader raises the Scout sign and says nothing until the whole room has followed; then the troop says the Oath quietly together. It works best when the SPL is patient enough to wait. Part of a series of short meeting openings and closings.
(The SPL walks to the front, raises the Scout sign, and says nothing. As Scouts notice, they raise the sign and go quiet. Patrol leaders help their patrols catch on. The SPL waits for the very last Scout, however long it takes.)

SPL: (quietly) 'Thank you. Let us say the Scout Oath, just as quietly.'

(The troop says the Scout Oath in a low voice.)

SPL: 'Two. That is how fast this troop can be ready when it decides to be. Let us start.'
