Category:Meeting Closings
Notes:The classic Scout closing. The troop forms a circle, crosses arms right over left, and joins hands. A silent squeeze is passed around the circle; when it comes back to the SPL, the troop turns out of the circle and leaves without a word. It works best when nobody speaks after the squeeze starts. Part of a series of short meeting openings and closings.

SPL: 'Troop, form a friendship circle.'

(Scouts and leaders form a circle, cross their right arm over their left, and join hands with the people on either side.)

SPL: 'This circle has no beginning and no end, like the friendships we make in Scouting. I am going to pass a squeeze to my right. When it reaches you, pass it on. When it comes back to me, the meeting is over. Please leave in silence.'

(The SPL squeezes the hand on their right. The squeeze travels silently around the circle. When it returns, the SPL says nothing, and everyone turns to their right, out of the circle, and lets go. Scouts leave quietly.)
